Byte Blue was launched in 1996 as a BYTE sub-label for progressive- and harder club music. The Byte label had become a victim of its own success. The huge international cross-over success of the label’s acts 2 Unlimited and CB Milton etc, infected the labels club-credibility, so a different imprint was necessary. Byte Progressive gave birth to the releases such as Funny F, DJ Peter, Stormtraxx, DJ Starfighter, D-Devils, Massiv’, The Moon and many more. All those vinyl releases exploded in the club scene before crossing over to mainstream. Some releases remain classics and continue to influence major DJ’s in the harder club genre.
